What does this mean to the future of Technology Enabled Care?
BT has paused the migration of landline users from the old analogue phone system after admitting that it needed to take additional measures to reassure customers of the quality and reliability of the new digital voice service. They wanted to complete the switchover by 2025 and Openreach has already started withdrawing legacy voice services at some exchanges.
Existing analogue technology is up to 40-years-old in some parts and is becoming obsolete.
Manufacturers no longer make replacement parts for it, new engineers aren’t being trained on it and it is becoming less and less reliable.
With guest speakers from England, Scotland & Wales , as well as BT and Openreach themselves, we will clarify the situation and then discuss how this will affect plans within the development of the TECS industry and what we need to do now.
